A Story To Tell – And A
Place For The Telling
Refugees in Canada tell their story
Tuesday November 18 at 7pm
Peter Kaye Room Vancouver Public Library
(350 W. Georgia Street)
In this new series refugees from around
the world who came to Canada for many different reasons,
will tell their stories - first person singular. These
stories are bound to challenge our misconceptions, awaken
our awareness and cause us to ask "Why?"
The Red Cross has a unique role to play
in the protection of refugees where danger exists - and
the agencies Red Cross has partnered with to launch this
new series also play key roles in ensuring that refugees,
whatever their stories, find protection, support and resources
here in the lower mainland.
You are invited to join us as we listen
to Lama Mugabo "Against all Odds: a Rwandan refugee
in Exile" Lama's story of fleeing Rwanda is especially
significant as we reach the 10-year anniversary of the
Rwandan genocide, and strive to understand the situation
from the perspective of one refugee's story.
